Checksum calculator
Calculate MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512 and CRC32 of files and compare them with an expected hash.
Drop files to checksum
or drop them here, or paste. Up to 2.0 GB per file.
Runs in your browser. Your files are not uploaded.
Files under 64 MB are read at once and hashed with Web Crypto; larger files, MD5 and CRC32 are hashed in chunks with a small WebAssembly library so memory stays flat.
MD5 and SHA-1 are fine to check that a download is intact but are not safe against deliberate tampering.
How to use Checksum calculator
Drop one or more files.
Tick the algorithms you need: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512 or CRC32.
To verify a download, paste the expected hash into the comparison field.
Select Calculate, then copy any hash.
Questions
No. The hashes are calculated in your browser and the files never leave your device.
Paste the hash published by the source into the expected hash field and calculate. The result says whether it matches. You can paste a bare hash or a line from a checksum file.
MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512 and CRC32. MD5 and SHA-256 are selected by default.
Up to 5,000 files, each up to 2 GB.
