Audio cutter: cut MP3 and make ringtones
Select part of a recording on the waveform and keep it, or cut it out.
Drop an audio file
or drop it here, or paste. Up to 500 MB per file.
Runs in your browser. Your files are not uploaded.
Formats: the format list shows only what this browser can encode. MP3 and FLAC use an encoder that downloads the first time you choose them. M4A (AAC) is not available in every Firefox version.
Memory: audio is decoded in full, about 23 MB per minute of 48 kHz stereo, so long recordings can be slow on phones. Files that would need more than about 1 GB once decoded (about 45 minutes of 48 kHz stereo, or 90 of mono) are refused before decoding.

Choose an audio file or drop it on the page.

Choose Keep the selection, or Cut out the selection to remove it.
Pick the output format, select Apply, then download.
Questions
No. Everything runs in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
Select the middle part and choose Cut out the selection. The rest is joined together in one file.
Select the part you want, keep it, and save it as M4A or MP3, if your browser offers those formats.
The trimmed audio is encoded again in the format you choose, so a lossy format at a lower bitrate loses some quality. WAV and FLAC are lossless.
